How can I Email a Return?
To email a copy of the client's encrypted return, you can use either of the two ways below.
Through the Client List
To use this route:
- Go to the Client List on the Main Menu of the ProWeb.
- Look for the Client you'd like to email their return from the Office Client List.
- Click on tools then proceed to Email return
- File to Attach: The PDF will be prepared and attached by the Program.
- Rename the PDF: By default, the file name is Tax Information.pdf. Remove the text then enter the name you prefer.
- File Password: To access the file, the client must enter a password. This password is set by you. It must be at least 8 characters; must have an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter as well as a special character (*$!?)
- File Password Confirmation: Repeat the set password.
- If the passwords don't match, ensure that they do.
- Under Send to, dial in the client's spouse's email address. From the Preparer Configuration, the email of the Preparer will be pre-populated.
- An explanation of the file being password protected is given on the Message Body.
- To open the PDF, the taxpayer's last four primary SSN must be entered.
- To complete the process, click on Send Email
From the Individual Tax Return
To apply this route, use the instructions below:
- Go to the Individual Tax Return then to the Submission page that comes after the E-File page.
- Click on Email Return.
- The PDF will be prepared and attached for you by the program.
- Under Send to, dial in the client's spouse's email address. From the Preparer Configuration, the email of the Preparer will be pre-populated.
- An explanation of the file being password protected is given on the Message Body.
- To open the PDF, the taxpayer's last four primary SSN must be entered.
- To complete the process, click on Send Email
