Is It Possible to Reactivate a Deactivated Return?

Yes. Within the ProWeb you can reactivate a return that had been deactivated. To do so: 

  • On the Welcome Page of your Office, select Start a New Return 
  • Enter the SSN for the return that had been deactivated 
  • You will be provided with two options; Remove and Create New or Reactivate the existing return 
  • Select the Reactivate option 

Note: Only those returns with SSNs can be reactivated. Those that have ITINs cannot be reactivated. Returns with ITINs are removed permanently upon deactivation.
