Desktop - Where Do I Set Up a Charge for Sales Tax?

Some states require the preparer to charge sales tax for preparation of tax returns. You can enter the sales tax percentage you would like to charge in the Advanced Fee Setup Menu. to do this: 

• Go to the Main Menu of the program 
• From the Menu, select Configuration 
• Under the Configuration, select Fee/Billing Setup 
• Then select Advanced Fee Setup 
• Select Generate Sales Tax on Preparer Fee - Here, key in the sales tax percentage you would like to charge for tax return preparation. 

The amount that you enter will be charged depending on your tax preparation fee and be shown on the invoice of the taxpayer.
