Desktop: I haven't received an acknowledgement for a return

The following are a few troubleshooting steps you can use in the event that you do not see an acknowledgement for a return in the Taxx Savage Pro. 


Check Client Status 


The first thing to do is to ensure, through the Client Status, that there was successful transmission of the return and that it was acknowledged by the IRS. To access the Individual returns Client Status, click on its icon in the toolbar at the top of the program or go to the Quick Menu and select option 5. For business returns, go to the Business menu and select View Entity Status. 


 Once in the Client Status, look for the return and note the return’s date of transmission as well as the processed date. 


The Client Status can also be accessed through the Account Hub. The information here is similar to the one seen by the Taxx Savage Pro Support about the status of the return. In the event that there is no acknowledgement in the Taxx Savage Pro Client Status but one shows here, the acknowledgement is most likely awaiting your pickup. 


Receive Acknowledgements Only 


Try picking up the acknowledgement after you have ensured that the transmission has been acknowledged by the IRS. To receive acknowledgements: 

  • Go to the Quick Menu of Taxx Savage Pro 
  • From the menu, select E-File 
  • Proceed to Receive Acknowledgments Only 
  • Then select Connect - All the acknowledgements awaiting picking will be downloaded 

Once you have received the acknowledgments: 

  • Go to E-File 
  • Proceed to Print Reports 
  • Select any menu with double arrows beside it in order to print the acknowledgement(s) 

Rehang Acknowledgements 

You will want to Rehang Acknowledgements in the event that you are still not able to see the acknowledgement for your return, even after Receiving Acknowledgement. This process sends an acknowledgement from the Taxx Savage Pro back to you. 


To Rehang acknowledgment(s): 

  • Go to the Quick Menu of Taxx Savage Pro 
  • From the menu, select E-File 
  • Proceed to E-file utilities 
  • Then to Request Acknowledgement Rehang 
  • Click the check box next to every acknowledgment that you’d want to rehung. (Check all of them in case you are uncertain) 
  • Enter the starting and ending dates of transmission to rehang acknowledgements for all returns transmitted within a certain date range
  • To select specific returns to rehang acknowledgements - Click on the “More Options” dropdown menu then change to “Rehang by Tax ID Number”, after which you should click the checkbox beside every return whose acknowledgements are to be rehung. Note: By default, the list is sorted by SSN. Click the column header to change how the list is sorted. 
  • Once done, click OK. All the acknowledgments matching the selections will be rehung and be available for pickup. To do so, repeat the Receive steps above.
