Desktop: Entering Prior Year Data For Comparison

A prior year comparison of tax return date will be prepared for you automatically in case Taxx Savage Pro was used to prepare the tax returns of a client in any of the previous years.  To check out the manner in which the present year’s tax return compares with the returns from the prior two years: 


  • Go to the Main Menu of the tax return 
  • From the menu, select View Results 
  • Then to Prior Years Comparison 

In the event that this is your first time using Taxx Savage Pro, you can manually fill the two previous year columns in the comparison. To do this: 


  • Go to the Main Menu of the tax return 
  • From the menu, select Miscellaneous Forms 
  • Proceed to Enter Prior Year(s) Data for Comparison 
  • Select the year then enter the required information 

Troubleshooting prior year information not showing 


The columns for the prior year in the comparison report display either the prior year return data in case there are prior year returns or the information you entered. In the event that you used Taxx Savage Pro to prepare the client’s tax return and are unable to see its data in the comparison, you might have chosen to manually enter the data. To confirm this, you can select the prior year comparison report here: 


  • Miscellaneous Forms 
  • Enter Prior Year(s) Data for Comparison - Locate for double arrows - next to either of the prior years. For instance, the menu for a 2020 tax return: 


2019 prior year data is manually entered in the report above, as shown by the double arrows. Select Remove 2019 Return Data to pull in the actual data from the 2019 return.
