- Show Additional Due Diligence Documentation When Exiting Return? - Select Yes to have the Additional Due Diligence Documentation checklist displayed upon exiting the return in case it has not been completed, ensuring that it is completed before you can be allowed to exit the return.
Use Head of Household Worksheet? - In case it is set to YES, the moment the Head of Household filing status is selected in a return, you will be led by the program through the Head of Household worksheet to assist in the figuring out of whether your client is eligible for Head of Household status.
Method Used to Call Adobe Acrobat - “Shell” is the default method used. In the event that you encounter challenges printing PDFs from within the Taxx Savage Pro, change the method to DLL or Exe. Contact the technical support in case the problem persists.
Type of Prior Taxable State Refund to Pull - “Net Taxable State Refund”is the default method. The net state taxable amount is pulled, by this method, to the income menu in case it is applicable. In case it is your desire to pull the total taxable amount to the income menu, simply select ‘Total Taxable State Refund”.
Ask to Unlock return awaiting acknowledgement - In case this is set to YES, as you open a return, a message will display, informing you of the transmission and that the acknowledgment is not back.
Ask to Unlock accepted return - In case you set this to YES, you will be questioned as you open an accepted return.
Ask if 7216 Disclosure Authorization Signed - Regulations on the use and disclosure of tax return information by the taxpayer are stipulated in Section 7216 of the Internal Revenue Code. In the event that you provide other services to your costumes, they must sign a Consent to Use and Consent to Disclose forms prior to being contacted regarding other services. You will not find the 7216 consent forms in the IRS website: You can either create one or use the sample that is provided by Taxx Savage Pro. Every client must sign the 7216 Disclosure Authorization before sharing or using their details in promotion of other financial services and products.
In case it is set to YES, a prompt will display when you exit the tax return, reminding you to have the client sign the form, in case it is applicable.
Note: In Taxx Savage Pro, you will not be inquired of the consent forms in case you are not offering bank products.
Manage Custom 7216s - You can create your own Form 7216 Disclosure Authorization here.
Ask For Dependent Care Benefits on W-2 Add - In case this is set to YES, the W-2 Dependent Care Benefits section will be included in case you use the Enter key to go through the fields. In case it is set to NO, the section will be skipped and it will be required of you to click in the box to key in amounts for Dependent Care Benefits.
Pull Prior Year Client Notes Forward - There are three choices here:
- Automatic Pull Forward - This option includes all the client notes when a previous year customer’s tax return information is pulled forward.
- Ask To Pull Forward - You will be prompted to pull previous year client notes forward.
- Do Not Pull Forward - No client note will pull forward, and no notification will be sent to you for the previous year notes.
Ask to Exit Main Menu (2018 and Prior) - This is a useful option when using the keyboard in navigation through the program. In case it is set to YES, upon pressing Enter at the Main Menu, a prompt will appear, requiring you to confirm whether you want to exit the program. (Note: Pressing the red X at the top right of the will leads to no prompt).
Display Client List when Exiting a Return (2018 and prior) - In the event that it is set to YES, when a return is either started or edited from the Client List, upon exiting the return, the Client List will be displayed. In case it is set to NO, upon exiting the return, you will go to the Main Menu. Since upon entering the Client List the 7216 Consent to Disclose query is shown, setting this question to YES leads to you never getting the 7216 query everytime you create a new return. Setting it to No will lead to the displaying of the 7216 each time you create a new return.
Preparer Code is Required to Complete a Return - In the event that it is set to YES, a preparer code must be shown in the Personal Information section for you to mark the return complete.
