Tax Preparer Pay Period
This is how our pay period is calculated: EXAMPLE: If you receive fees from 01/13/2025 TO 01/17/2025 YOU WILL RECEIVE THOSE PREP FEES 01/24/2025.
This is so we don’t miss any prep fees and allow us proper calculation time. Paychex has instructed us that, as per the banking regulations, the bank must have the funds in your bank account by 6 pm on the scheduled date to be paid. If you have received a payment notification from us or have in the past, it will be updated on Wednesday when payroll is sent to Paychex, and you can expect funds in your account on that Friday no later than 6 pm. Following the above example.
This process may change within our systematic way of doing things, however the money processing will remain the same. You will receive your money when we say unless there is an outage or anything out of our control. In addition All marketing fees ($34.95 for in-season and $75 for pre-ack) are extracted from your prep fees.
Other fees for mailing checks and Refund Cards (if requested), any ancillary fees such as software fee or Audit protection you may have used without using a RT Refind Transfer, is also considered ancillary fees.
In addition, Your prep fees may be reduced on occasion: Example A client was supposed to get $9251- you charged $500 for your prep fee.
The IRS offset the refund and only paid the client $589.47. (Your client can contact the IRS/Bank to find out why it was reduced).
That same client acquired an advance of $250, which was deducted. Then the fees of $20.00 to Refund Advantage or EPS—$48.00 Transmission Fee—$99.00 Taxx Savage—$10 Doc Fee and the remainder of that balance is $162.40, that’s goes to you the preparer, and thats why your Prep fee wasn’t paid in full because there was not enough money to pay it.
NOTE: Tax prep fees are paid out every week during peak tax season, and they slow down to every 2-4 weeks to once a month as the season declines.
