What Are the Other Configuration Options on Proweb?

There are various other options for custom configuration to use in your ProWeb Office that have not been included in the other articles. These are Taxpayer Profiles, Customized Consent Forms, Question Templates, Tags, Office IP Whitelists and Custom Credits. 


Creating custom Consent Forms 

  • Select Configuration 
  • From there, select Consent Forms 
  • To add a Consent Form, click on +Add
  • Enter a name for the Consent Form and provide a description for it
  • Use the Display Disclosure Limitations to know whether a limitation may be specified 
  • Required for E-File - Permits you to request consent prior to e-filing 
  • There is a + sign  next to the Consent Form Terms, click on it 
  • Enter the Term then define the term or select Input Only option
  • To save the term, click the check mark next to it 
  • Once done, click Save to save the Consent Form 

Creating Custom Credit 

  • Select Custom Credit from the Configuration menu 
  • To add Custom Credits, click +Add 
  • Enter a name for the Custom Credit 
  • Dictate whether the credit is needed prior to completing the return 
  • To save, click Continue
  • Custom Credits are used for reporting purposes, reminders among other uses 

Adding IP Addresses to your Office Whitelist 

  • Select Office IP Whitelist from the Configuration Menu 
  • To add an IP address, type it and click +Add 
  • Note: Only the IP Addresses added to this section will access the program. Set this configuration incase use a Static IP Address or can set it up with the help of a local technician. 

Creating Question Templates 

  • Select Question Templates from the Configuration menu 
  • To Add a Question select +Add 
  • After adding the Question, decide whether it should be answered 
  • To add an Answer, select +Add 
  • Note: Questions may be for marketing purposes that prompts preparers to answer them before completing the returns. 
  • Once done, click Save.  

Creating Tags 

  • Select Tags from the configuration menu 
  • To add a Tag, click +Add 
  • Note: To easily and quickly locate returns and other things like to leave notes, tags are used, 
  • Once done, click Save 

Creating Taxpayer Profiles 

  • Select Taxpayer Profiles from the Configuration menu 
  • To add Taxpayer Profiles click on +Add 
  • Enter a Name and give the Profile a Description 
  • Select the Tax Year 
  • To find Forms that you want to add, locate the Tax Form (Lookup) 
  • Note - In case you have a number of similar clients, you will need these profiles to efficiently prepare the tax returns. You can create a Taxpayer Profile that includes Forms 1099-R, SSA-1099, RRB-1099 amongst others when you want to create many returns for retired taxpayers. The Forms will be prompted by the program, saving you from having to jump locations. 
  • Once done, click Save.
