How Can I Change the Preparer on a Return in the Proweb?

Use the following steps to change the preparer on a tax return in Taxx Savage ProWeb: 

  • On the Welcome Page, go to Client Search 
  • Look for the tax return whose preparer you want to change 
  • Once you find the tax return, click the Tools dropdown menu next to them 
  • Then select Change Preparer 

  • From the dropdown menu, pick the new preparer then click the Continue button. 

  • Just like that, the selected tax return will have a new preparer. 

You are also able to change the preparer of a return created by a Preparer without a PTIN in configuration. The change can be made on the Submission page by clicking a button labelled Change Preparer: 

The result of clicking the button will be the Tools menu (same menu as the one in step three above). To change the preparer, pick a new one from the dropdown menu then confirm the change by clicking continue.
