The first step is to fill out the amended tax return in Form 1040-X.
Navigate to the E-File page.
The amended return cannot have the original return as a paper return to E-File.
In the software program, go to the Amended Return Information in the menu.
You will be asked if you want to E-File the amended return:
Click Yes.
Save the results at the bottom of the page and transmit the amended return.
