How Can I File Deadline & Extension Information?
Purchase the extension in the Client Hub, then complete Form 4868 in the software and mark the return for review. The review team will process and e-file it with the IRS. Note: An extension gives you more time to file, not to pay.
How to Purchase and File a Tax Extension
Overview
Tax extensions allow additional time to file a return, but do not extend the time to pay any taxes owed. All extensions must be purchased through the Client Hub and submitted through the Taxx Savage software for review and e-filing.
Step 1: Purchase the Extension in the Client Hub
- Navigate to the Client Hub:
👉 https://hub.taxxsavage.com/ - From the left-hand menu, select File Extensions
- Extensions are $15 per extension
- Select:
- The appropriate tax year
- The number of extensions you are purchasing
- For each extension, enter:
- First Initial
- Last Name
- Last 4 digits of the Social Security Number
- Click Add after entering each extension
- Once all extensions are entered, click Purchase Extensions
- Complete payment through the secure payment portal
Step 2: Complete the Extension in Taxx Savage Software
- Log in to your Taxx Savage Software account
- Open the client’s tax return
- Navigate to the Federal Section
- Select Miscellaneous Forms
- Click Application for Automatic Extension of Time to File (Form 4868)
Step 3: Complete Form 4868
Enter the following information:
- Tax Liability
Enter the total estimated tax liability
(You may select “Use Current Liability Amount” to auto-fill) - Total Payments
Enter total taxes already paid (withholdings + estimated payments) - Amount Paid
Enter the amount being paid with the extension (if applicable) - Out of Country
Check if the taxpayer is outside the United States - Electronic Payment (Optional)
If paying electronically, select the option and enter bank details
Final Step: Submit for Review
After completing Form 4868:
- Mark the return for Review
- The review team will process and e-file the extension with the IRS
