To access the display settings in the Taxx Savage Pro:

  • Go to the Quick Menu
  • Select Configuration
  • Proceed to Advanced Configuration (Macros)
  • Then to Display Settings

Edit Main Menu Size (2019 and Later) - In case the Client List is displayed along with the Quick Menu, select this line to choose the number of client lines to be displayed, with Large covering the whole available space below the toolbar at the top of the page.

Display Client List on Main Menu (2019 and Later) - In case this is set to YES, the Client List will be displayed alongside the Quick Menu. You can therefore begin a new return by entering the SSN at the top of the Client List.

Note: In the event that you provide bank products to your clients and want to print the Consent To Use from prior to starting the return, choose Start New Return from the Quick Menu.

Mask SSNs in List (2020 and later) - In case this is set to YES, the first five numbers of the SSN will be masked in the lists.

Default Cursor Focus on Main Menu Client List (2020 and later) - The cursor, when going back to the Client List, can be positioned in the SSN field to start a new return or it may be in the “Enter Option” field at the bottom of the Quick Menu. Choose either of the two options.

Ask to Exit Main Menu (2019 and later) - In case you use the keyboard for navigation  instead of the mouse, this option will be of great help. In case this is set to YES, the moment you press Enter at the Quick Menu, you will be prompted to confirm whether or not you want to exit the program. (Note: In case you click the red X at the top right of the program window when in the Quick Menu, you aren’t prompted for confirmation).

Edit Clients 1040 List

  • Start Return Using Client List - In case this is set to YES, a list of all the clients that have been started and/or completed will be displayed when you select Start New Return from the Quick Menu. This may be undesirable in case your clients can see the display of your monitor. In case this is set to NO, a page to enter the SSN of the client will be displayed. (At this point, by pressing the F8 key, you will be able to see the Client List)
  • Display C;lient ;List when Exiting a Return (2019 and later) - In case this is set to NO, upon exiting a return, you will land on the Quick Menu. In case it is set to YES, your landing place upon exiting a return will depend on the prior settings;

In case Start Return Using Client List is set to YES, upon exiting the return you will land on the Client List ready to start a new return (you will not therefore be warned of printing section 7216 consent form)

In case Start Return Using Client List is set to NO, upon exiting the return, you will be taken back to the window to enter the next to the SSN of the client (you will not therefore be warned of printing section 7216 consent form)

Note: You will not be warned about printing section 7216 consent form when you use either of the above settings since you have not gone back to the Quick Menu. Should you wish that all the clients get the warning when starting a new return, set displaying the Client List as you exit a return to YES.

  • Select Columns to Display on Client List - Select the columns you would want to display in the Client List. All columns are initially displayed by default. To hide a column, uncheck the checkbox of the column.

Block Support Alert Message - Obsolete

Use Generic Main Menu - Omits the Taxx Savage Pro Name from the Quick Menu

Background Being Used - In case you want to alter the background color used in the program, select from the color list. This feature is useful in the event that multiple years of Taxx Savage Pro are open simultaneously. Every year having a different background color helps avoid working on a return in the wrong year.

Option to Print Federal Forms in Spanish - In case it is set to YES, you will be able to print Federal forms in Spanish. (Take note that every Federal form has both the Spanish and English versions).

Activate Tax Book Subscription - Taxx Savage Pro collaborates with The Tax Book in providing a special price and integrating access into Taxx Savage Pro by clicking the toolbar icon at the top of the screen. In case you bought a subscription, click here to have it activated.

Go To Current Client In Client Status Wen In Return - In case this is set to TRUE, after clicking the Client Status icon, the Client Status page will open to show the status for the client whose return you are preparing. In case it is set to FALSE, the Client Status page will open empty and you will choose the client to view.
