Desktop - How to Remove the Third Party Designee

On Taxx Savage Pro, you can default the third party designee to the preparer, a different designee or even leave the field empty. In the event that the preparer is the designee, the 3rd Party Designee box in the Paid Preparer Use Only section of Form 1040 will be marked. In the event that the preparer is not the 3rd Party Designee, it is in the Third Party Designee section of Form 1040 that the information will be printed. 

To remove the third party designee from all tax returns: 

• Select Configuration from the Main Menu of the program 
• Once in the configuration, select Printer/Copies Setup 
• Then select Advanced Print Setup 
• Go to Default Third Party Designee to 
• Then select Leave Blank 

To remove the third party designee from an existing return: 

• Go to the Main Menu of that Tax Return (Form 1040) 
• From the Menu, select Personal Information 
• Then go to Other Categories 
• For the option, “Allow Another Person to Discuss Return With IRS”, select No.
