Database Management

You can track several activities concerning your clients using the Database Management section of the program.

An activity is any place where your business is promoted, whether directly or indirectly.

Advertisements through radio or television commercials, mailings, a yellow page listing etc, are all considered activities. The place from where you know a client is also an activity.

Information on how a client knows about your company may be included in their return. A report can be run at the end of the tax season, to know which activities brought in the most clients and the ones that brought in the least. This information may be very helpful in your marketing and networking decisions for the successive tax season.

To set up a Database Management:

Go to the Main Menu of Taxx Savage Pro
From the menu, select Configuration
Proceed to Advanced Configuration (Macros)
Then to Database Management
Select Edit Database Management Activities, then choose the first blank activity and click OK.
Key in a description of the activity (for instance, newspaper.)
Continue entering all the activities you would want to track

Assigning an activity to a return

To assign an activity to a tax return:

Go to the return
Click the Tools Menu in the Taxx Savage Pro toolbar at the top of the screen
Select Database Management
Check the box beside the activities you want to associate with this return

Printing a report of activities

The results of the data collected within the tax season is displayed in the Database Management Activity Report. To access this report:

Go to the Main Menu of Taxx Savage Pro
From the menu, select Configuration
Proceed to Advanced Configuration (Macros)
Then to Database Management
Finally, to Database Management Activity Report

Print the report or create mailing labels depending on the collected data. You can also create a CSV file for exporting the data.
