Amount Paid with Extension

Payments made alongside automatic extension requests filed with Form 4868 or Form 2350 should be included on the Form 1040 when filed. Enter the paid amount alongside the extension request, whether by check, credit or debit card, or electronic funds withdrawal. The convenience fee charged for using a credit card is not to be included. 

To enter the amount paid with an automatic extension request in Taxx Savage Pro: 


  • Go to the Main Menu of the tax return (Form 1040) 
  • From the menu, select Payments, Estimates & EIC 
  • Then Amount Paid With Extension
